Weekend Open Forum: Say Anything About the Virtual
It's just far to early for the silly amounts of hype. No doubt VR will be a big deal in the future, but those at the cutting edge should make the public aware of the long time line. Problem is they are almost all at the moment games developers, and to them this is a big new money making toy on the market. So they are using the temptation of "the future is now" slogans to basicly just sell their games. Strange as it may seem, I think something like Sansar has more future potential for promoting VR as something beyond games than any of the other big VR engines. Simply because it's users may well end up being SL users, who have been living as much a virtual life as is possible right now for a long time now. It is they, and not game players, who are more likely to populate any kind of Virtual worlds, whatever that really means, if and when they become available. All IMHO of course
