I mean, when I first started contracting for Linden Lab in 2003, I'd leave my apartment in Oakland under a clear blue sky and see San Francisco off in the distance across the Bay, utterly covered in a hazy fog. Meanwhile, Linden Lab execs would leave their homes in San Francisco, often unable to see more than 50 meters in front of them (let alone 500). And since San Franciscans typically see San Francisco as the best city in the world, why not make a whole world that resembles it?
